Medical center invites public to Memorial Day program


On Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m., MercyOne Clinton Medical Center will remember and celebrate our veterans during a special program. The public is welcome.

“We are indebted to these heroes and their families. They are selfless in their service and love of our country and our communities,” MercyOne Clinton COO Amy Berentes said in a press release. “While they are away, we have the privilege of meeting the health needs of their families. Upon their return, our physicians and providers will provide safe, innovative and personalized care to meet the specialized needs of the military community.

Clinton-area residents are encouraged to congregate outside the medical center at 1410 N. 14th St. The program will include:

· Raise the flag at half mast with the sound of “Taps”.

· Sing the national anthem and take the oath of allegiance

· Pray

A thank you and recognition of veterans present

· Delivery of a commemorative wreath to be placed in the North Hall of the Medical Center.

Children from MercyOne Clinton Childcare will participate. After the program, they will host a mini-parade in the corridors of the first floor.

A Memorial Day lunch will be available at the Cornerstone Café.
