KDF troops provide free medical care in Tanzania

The CIMIC exercise is a rotational event between EAC member states with the aim of enhancing regional integration.

The East African Community military has embarked on a week of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) in Tanzania.

The exercise aims to extend medical assistance to the community with various medical conditions in the area.

Since the start of CIMIC Week, more than 300 people have benefited from free medical services from military doctors, including those from the Kenyan contingent stationed at the Kibaha Coastal Region Hospital in Dar es Salaam.

Pregnant women and children are among the main beneficiaries of the exercise which is due to end on September 1, 2022.

The exercise is taking place in the spirit of the EAC Protocol on Cooperation in Defense Affairs, the four pillars of which include military training, joint operations, technical cooperation, visits and information exchange.

This year’s event is held as part of celebrations marking the 4th Tanzania Armed Forces Day on September 1, 2022.
