President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory message to the participants of the International Forum of Neurosurgeons in Nur-Sultan, reports Trend citing Kazinform.

Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov read the President’s message.

In his message, the Head of State congratulated the participants for the opening of the International Forum of Neurosurgeons and a thematic film festival. “Today’s meeting of highly qualified scientists chaired by the famous academician Alexander Konovalov will undoubtedly give a new impetus to the development of Kazakh medicine,” reads the message.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the National Neurosurgery Center of Kazakhstan greatly contributes to the development of neurosurgery in the country.

“This institution ranks among the best health organizations in Central Asia. Last year, he was the first in the region to install the Gamma Knife radiosurgery treatment system. In 2021, doctors at the Center performed around 500 complicated surgeries. Our country creates all the conditions for close interaction with world-famous specialists, for the exchange of experience and for the implementation of advanced technologies in domestic neurosurgery.

Kazakhstan is gradually becoming the center of medical tourism in the region. I am confident that many new ideas will emerge during the forum,” the post read.
