SAULT STE MARIE, MICHIGAN ~~~~~May 26, 2022 (LSNews) MyMichigan Health announces that Kevin Kalchik, CPA, has been named president of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault effective Friday, July 1, 2022. Kalchik joined the Medical Center in 2004 as chief financial officer and currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Community Health Access Coalition (CHAC). He resides in Sault Ste. Mary with her family.
The Medical Center’s current president and CEO, David Jahn, is retiring after 16 years with the organization. Under Jahn’s leadership, the organization experienced growth and improvements in quality and financial sustainability. Jahn led the medical center to become a High Reliability Organization (HRO) while working diligently to expand specialty services in Sault Ste. Married. Under Jahn’s leadership, the medical center added a new emergency department, got a surgical robot, added a cancer care center, and affiliated with MyMichigan Health.
In a communication to all staff earlier this week, Jahn shared “My retirement plans have been developed over the past two years and I am confident that Mr. Kalchik is ready to lead MyMichigan Medical Center Sault,” Jahn said. . “My departure from the medical center is a bit bittersweet. While I’m looking forward to retirement, I’m also sad to leave such a great team. I know that MyMichigan Medical Center Sault will continue to provide high quality care to our community.
Kalchik values Jahn’s leadership and preparation for his new role. “David has been my mentor for the past 16 years and I learned a lot from him to prepare for my new role,” Kalchik said. “I’m ready to transition and lead MyMichigan Medical Center Sault through our exciting, long-into-the-future integration process.”
