Estrella III to provide educational and medical assistance to DAR employees


True to his promise that he will not only address the welfare of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) but also of his employees, the Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Conrado Estrella III, recently announced that it would provide educational assistance to support the college. education of adult sons and daughters of DAR employees, the fund would be taken from his first salary.

Estrella announced that he is distributing his first month’s salary for said college education assistance program by raffle at the flag-raising ceremony, this Monday, August 1, 2022.

The priority beneficiaries who will benefit from the assistance program for college studies will be single parent employees who are caring for children at the college level.

The former Pangasinan lawmaker has yet to complete his first month as DAR secretary, but he is already becoming the “DARling of the DAR community” for his generosity.

Estrella assumed the DAR leadership position at the July 4 rotation ceremony at the DAR Gymnasium, where he showed a glimpse of his kindness when he announced that his administration had earmarked a $5 million fund. pesos for the medical subsidy for DAR employees. and their immediate family members.

In Special Order No. 03, Series of 2022, Estrella pointed out that the medical assistance package “may vary but may not at any time exceed P20,000 per patient.”

The Medical Assistance Program is open to all regular and contract employees whose salary or remuneration is P20,000 and less. Also included are contract labourers, who have worked continuously for the Department for at least two years and are also eligible for the program.

Estrella said the program covers “a percentage of the cost of essential and life-saving drugs and other medical products and services prescribed and recommended by the DAR medical consultant for outpatients and the attending physician for inpatients.”
